We Are National Lottery Funded

£122 million of vital National Lottery funding has been awarded to over 2,500 charities and community groups in England, and Making Fitness Accessible CIC are delighted to be included within those funded. To find out more visit www.TNLCommunityFund.org.uk


The funding is part of the #NationalLottery Community Fund’s ambition to strengthen society and improve lives across the UK. Our project will be based close to HQ in the East of England in Ipswich, Suffolk.



Our Project


Name: Inclusive Exercise In The Community

Location: Babergh, Mid Suffolk, Ipswich

Start Date: 3rd November 2023

Projected End Date: 5th July 2024

Projected reach: 150 Participants


The Inclusive Exercise In The Community project will provide an accessible exercise opportunity to older adults and people with disabilities and health conditions through an 8 month period.


The exercise sessions will be varied to meet the needs of the participants but may include walking / wheelchair trekking; use of outdoor gymnasium and other engaging sports and exercise activities .


This programme will help the community overcome barriers to participation as they exercise under the guidance of specialist instructors with adaptive exercise equipment in accessible exercise environments; and with others in the community of whom they feel safe and comfortable to exercise with.


The project will reach out to Older Adults over the age of 65 and individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities and health conditions.


The project session schedule -

November - March

1st and 3rd Friday of the month 1.00-3.00pm - Trek and Train


March - July

1st and 3rd Friday of the month 1.00-3.00pm - Outdoor gym


As well as the above sessions we will also be providing this activity to organisations who provide services to individuals with disabilities and health conditions.

Our aim is to raise awareness of community activities following the coronavirus and provide an accessible exercise experience.
